It was about this time last yuear that my life took an unexpected turn for the worse.  My health quickly declined, which I later found out was due to me being a diabetic.  Before I knew it my kidneys failed, which meant I had to go on dialysis.  Since then I've had more views of the inside of an ambulance than I'd want and more hospital stays than I'd like to remember (including a recent on this past week).  The bulk of 2017 was horrible for me, but all I can do is pray that the ret of the year goes better.  I don't know if I can survive it being worse.

Stop me if you've heard this one before.  One of our cats we appropriately named Panda has been pregnant for a while.  We'd often make the joke that if she didn't hurry up and have her kittens she'd explode.  Well, she must have believed us, because on Thursday we heard the meows of newly-born kittens.  As far as we know she has 4, but we won't know for sure until she brings them out into the open.  But for now we're content letting her keep them where they are.  We know she'll bring them out when she's good and ready.

The phrase "Home, sweet home" has taken on a whole new meaning for me today.  I just got back home after spending the past week in the hospital, and let me tell you being home has never felt better.  I mean, all I did was go to my local doctor for an examination to figure out why I as feeling the way I was and that leafd to a week in the hospital with them running all kinds of tests on me.  Not fun.  And the worst part is that my ordeal isn't over yet.  For now, though, I'm going to enjoy being home.
